Welcome to the Patapsco Valley Ducks Unlimited website! The Patapsco Valley Chapter was originally founded in the early 80's, and recently revived in 2009. With help from MD Regional Director, Josh Voelker, a committee was formed that was made up of local volunteers. Thanks to the outstanding members of the new Patapsco Valley Chapter, the committee was able to plan it's first fundraising event in the fall of 2009, raising approximately $9,000 for Ducks Unlimited.
Ducks Unlimited is a grassroots, volunteer-based organization. Its members are conservationists and outdoor enthusiasts who live throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. This chapter is located in Central Maryland, primarily consisting of members from Howard County and surrounding Patapsco Valley areas. Ducks Unlimited conserves, restores and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl. This chapter's goal is to gain support from the local residents in support of DU's national goals, many of which impact our local waterfowl habitats and populations. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people. All fundraising efforts are designed to be fun, please attend one of our upcoming fundraisers!
Patapsco Valley Chapter committee meetings usually occur at the HMG Technologies Office in Old Ellicott City or at Bare Bones on RT40. We usually meet about once a month, more often prior to a scheduled fundraising event. If you would like to join the Patapsco Valley Chapter committee we would love to have you!
